The BPA Free Cup: Our Evaluation of the ThinkBaby Sippy

The ThinkBaby sippy cup deserves this evaluation and mention at The Perfect Cup because it has several important aspects and benefits that are worth their cost – without paying a lot (as we don’t believe in paying a lot for anything that will only be put to use for a short period of development)!

Firstly, the best bpa free cups are simple for a toddler to carry, and this ThinkBaby one certainly is. This is the feature you should check first and foremost. A toddler should be able to easily grasp and manipulate the sippy. This seems a bit mundane, but many cups out there, even the bpa free sippy cups which have all been recently invented or redesigned, omit this important aspect. Little, still developing hands must be able to easily turn it up and down without losing the sippy cup.

Not only is this about performance, it is developmental too – every mom or dad wants their preschooler to feel encouraged by the experience of the toddler sippy cup, not frustrated by it.

Additionally, a good bpa free cup, especially one without BPA, has to be simple for a caretaker to clean up. Once more, this ThinkBaby bpa-free sippy cup meets that standard. It does not have an excess of parts, and it can easily be disassembled and reassembled. I personally prefer sippys that can go in the dishwasher, but will buy one occasionally that has to be washed by hand if it looks good. That is a decision you will have to make. You may simply not have the time to mess with toddler sippy cups that are not dishwasher safe. Regardless, this cup has only a few components and is easy to clean, both key features of any bpa free sippy cup.

Lest we forget, this ThinkBaby sippy cup has, as all the best sippys do, a bpa-free certification! The full story on the long-term impacts of BPA probably will not be clear for many years, but in the interim, it is worth purchasing the ones that are BPA free. The price difference is quite small, and the future impact on your preschooler is – potentially – quite huge!
